Credit Card Will Stop Working From August 1 2009
A new directive passed by RBI which mandates credit card and debit card issuing banks like icici bank ltd, hdfc bank ltd etc must provide an additional authentication information over what is visible on the physical card from August 1 , 2009.A credit card or debit card holder must provide an extra PIN or some other form of data to do online transaction.
Also it is mandatory for debit card and credit card issuing banks to provide online alerts to the card holder for all transactions that exceed Rs 5000/-
It is mandatory to register credit or debit card holder with banks for extra PIN.
I am giving step by step details for extra PIN for icici credit card.Like this you can register with your credit card / debit card banks.
Open the site ICICI Bank 3D Secure Service.
Now click on the Register Now tab and click on the I Accept tab.Enter your credit card / debit card number.
Enter Valid From and Date Of Birth fields.
Enter your E-mail, Mobile Number , Personal Assurance Message and PIN and submit the details.
Once Sumbit you will get message as Registration Successful like below.
